London, 30 January 1875

Dear Citizen,

Today I have sent the last part of the manuscript to Paris, with the exception of the concluding word, the table of contents and the errata, which can only be completed when I have the still unpublished fascicles in hand.

I agree with you that it is better to publish the last fascicles together, but that is no reason for Monsieur Lahure to have stopped printing for three months. (He has not even returned the proofs of instalments 34 and 35.) I am pressed by other work: my German publisher, like the Russian publisher, sends one letter after another, urging me to begin the final editing of the second volume. If, therefore, Monsieur Lahure, instead of printing and sending me the proofs as printing proceeds, continues to postpone this, he alone will be responsible for any new delays and interruptions that may result therefrom. As I do not wish to write to this gentleman any more, I beg you to convey your instructions to him.

Wholly yours
Karl Marx
