[London] 4 August 74

Dear Fred,

Jennychen will be coming to you the day after tomorrow, probably departing at 12 o’clock a.m.! from Maitland Station, Kentish Town. I shall accompany her for the day.1#2!

My 4 witnesses, Manning, Matheson, Seaton and Adcock, were at the solicitor’s at exactly 12 o’clock on Saturday, attended to the various statements before the magistrate, and the same day the solicitor took the papers to the Home Office? He thinks the matter will be decided this week. 1°]

Enclosed a letter from Lafargue, which I forgot to forward to you.

I have had for 2 days the beginning of a carbuncle on my left loin; it will probably yield to the mercury ointment. Am sleeping badly; the little boy? had grown dear to my heart. Best regards to the household.

Yours,
K. M.
