Karl Marx to Friedrich Engels
in Manchester
London, Tuesday, 19 April 1859

I 19 April.
Dear Engels,

1) £5 1. arrived. Best thanks.

2) I’ll look out the Tribunes for you and send them in the course of this week.

3) In the Tribune that arrived today (dated April 5) there is an attack, enclosed, probably by some Hungarian jackass, which you will have to answer on Friday. The Answer of the “14th inst.”, to which the jackass alludes, is not in my hands. However, from his own repetition you see everything he said in “his short answer”.

4) What did the A.A.Z. say in reference to your Tribune article?

5) Yesterday I saw in the Hamburger Correspondent advertised by Duncker “Po und Rhein”. |

6) I myself have received eight proof sheets so far. The thing is thus coming to an end, but D[uncker] will probably again send nothing for 2 weeks.

7) ad vocem Lassalle tomorrow, when I shall write to you in greater detail.

Salut
D
