London, Thursday, 17 March 1859

I 17 March, 1859.

Dear Sir,

I am sending the proof sheets back in the letter envelope, because I have been informed by the local post office that proofs can be sent from Berlin to London, but that the route from London to Berlin must be made as letters.

In the last lines of page 32 I forgot to correct, instead of “deeper economic contrast between English and French, etc., political economy”, to read “deeper one of principle, etc.”

It is possible that my memory deceives me, but it seems to me as though the beginnings of the sentences on p. 33, both in the text and the first note, were missing on page 32.

Yours very truly,
K. M.
