Milan, July 29. The republican demonstration expected on the 28th inst. did not take place; on the other hand, it is said, there is unrest among the people, and there may be scenes. Yesterday the deputation left which is to appeal for France’s help. People here are in anxious suspense.

* Turin, July 26. The day before yesterday Gioberti was sworn in as deputy. On the proposal of all the deputies of the island of Sardinia, the Chamber resolves to take into consideration their motion for the suppression of the monasteries of three orders and the seizure of their property. In yesterday’s sitting a letter from Gioberti was read first, in which he requests leave of absence for a journey (mission) to Paris. Collegno and Casati have returned from headquarters. Perhaps a new, more homogeneous ministry will at last come into being. The first news from the theatre of war has arrived; the final decision is not yet known. An anxious suspense prevails.
* Turin, July 27. The deputies of Sicily, who were sent here on account of the royal election that has taken place, left today for Milan. – The day before yesterday the Genoese celebrated a requiem mass in memory of the two brothers Bandiera, who were shot in Cosenza by the judicial bandits of Ferdinand. The news from the theatre of war reaches up to the 25th. Everything is in the greatest excitement over the outcome.
* Rome, July 23. The ministerial crisis is still not over. The Roman people are likely soon to grow weary of this procrastination, of these ceaseless intrigues of the Austrian-Jesuit party, and to take refuge in decisive measures. In Bologna there exists a provisional government not in name, but in deed
