Fort Malghera Reported Taken

Vienna, 28 June. A courier just arrived here is said to have brought the news that Fort Malghera, which commands the railway bridge over the lagoons and a part of Venice, has surrendered to our troops, following a bombardment with incendiary rockets and shells, and that 36 cannon were found in the fort. The garrison consisted of Lombard volunteers.

(The *Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung* itself, by the way, doubts the correctness of this report. It will, however, be confirmed in a few days, unless Charles Albert has roused himself from his feeble inactivity.)
