Victory of the Magyars

Posen, March 1. Colonel Breansui, chief of the general staff, demands in the name of General Chrzanowski that all Polish officers send him their commissions if they wish to be employed in the Polish Legion of the Sardinian army. The Polish Legion is to exist as long as the war with Austria lasts. Should the legion be disbanded, everyone is free to enter the Sardinian army in the same rank, or he receives discharge together with six months’ pay. Young people with suitable education enter the cadet division, in which they receive thorough instruction in the military sciences, in order then to enter the legion as officers.
