Inquiry

* Aachen, June 3. Mr Frenken, Government and School Councillor from Aachen, deputy for Heinsberg, declared in the sitting of May 31 of the Chamber “for the Agreement”: “one cannot sufficiently acknowledge the honourable conduct of the military in Aachen; it behaved with admirable moderation.”
This Government and School Councillor, one of the greatest reactionaries in the Chamber “for the Agreement”, recently declared in a private company that “given the perpetual disturbances in Berlin, it was time for the citizens to withdraw more, for the military to move in, and to fire grapeshot at the Berliners.”
Does this Government and School Councillor represent the citizens of Aachen? It is in the interest of the city of Aachen itself to answer this.
In general, we must remark to the Government and School Councillors, as well as to other royal Prussian officials, that a certain tact should prevent them from the impropriety of setting themselves up as impartial parties in the conflicts between royal Prussian soldiers and the Rhenish people.
