Cavaignac and the June Revolution

Cretin, of Louis Napoleon, the “little constable”; he is amiable
in his attack on Cavaignac, the sword of Monsieur Marrast. Since
November 7 he has been publishing in successive numbers a philippic
against the hero of the European bourgeoisie, who had fallen in love with his Arabian
nightcap. Faithless as it is, it has sacrificed him to the Sipahsalar
Jelačić, who is now the lion of European jobbery.
We are communicating to our readers the full acte d’accusation of the
Presse. We have understood the June revolution, in contradiction to all European
papers large and small, as history has confirmed it. We make a point of returning from time to time to its
main moments and main actors, for the June
revolution is the centre around which the European revolution and
counter-revolution revolve. The departure from the June revolution was, as
we stated during its course, the solar zenith of the counter-
revolution, which was obliged to make its tour around Europe. The return to the
June revolution is the proper beginning of the European revolution.
So back to Cavaignac, to the inventor of the state of siege.
