Wrangel – Bonin – The Provincial Assembly
(Schleswig-Holstein)

Nr. 104, 16. September 1848
Neue Rheinische Zeitung.

* Schleswig-Holstein. Colonel Baudissin has been appointed commander of the Schleswig-Holstein troops, replacing Prince Frederick of Augustenburg, who has stepped down. General Bonin assumes the federal command of the troops. The withdrawal of the troops continues. Wrangel has departed for Berlin. The returned leaders of the Danish party in North Schleswig, with truly Danish impudence, have immediately resumed their agitation with Dannebrog flags, etc. The Provincial Assembly has issued an address to the returning federal troops. At its session of the 11th, it was informed by the government member Bremer, on behalf of Wrangel, that he hoped the separation of the Schleswig and Holstein troops during the armistice would still be dispensed with, and that Article 7 could yet be amended such that the decrees of the provisional government remain in force and only individual ones are repealed by the new government. The government member expressed the hope that, thereupon, nothing would stand in the way of the armistice.
