Supplement.

Neue Rheinische Zeitung.
No. 102, September 14, 1848

* Cologne, September 13, 11:30 a.m. The great popular assembly on the Frankenplatz has just ended. Between five and six thousand people were present. The motion to appoint a Committee of Safety was carried amid stormy applause. Thirty persons were at once elected to form the Committee of Safety and will constitute themselves this very day. An address to the Berlin Assembly was also adopted, in which that assembly is called upon, in the consciousness of its good right, to defy any attempt at dissolution as a coup d’état, “to do its duty and to maintain its seats even against the force of bayonets.” The entire assembly proceeded with the greatest order and unanimity.
