Editorial Comment on the Financial Plan of the Left
in the Prussian National Assembly
(We do not quite understand how the deputies of the Left can submit financial plans for procuring the necessary funds to the ministry they wish to overthrow. The refusal of funds is precisely the main means of overthrowing a ministry and, with Herr Hansemann, perhaps the only one. If the financial plan still contained a reform perhaps – but no, it is supposed to spare the government the hated method of the forced loan. But what is better for the opposition than if the ministry makes itself hated? – Ed.)
