Manchester, 28 March 70

Dear Mohr

Yesterday I sent you, in a letter that, being a Sunday, could not be registered, a £5 note S/7 29 808 Manchester 16 Jan. 69, which, together with the letter, I hope you have received. Enclosed now follow £82 10s. draft on demand on Union Bank of London drawn by Manchester & County Bank to order of F. Engels & endorsed to you, further the various Dutch & Russian letters. The Roesgen here asserts that he is absolutely no relation of the Rotterdam man. The latter is not bad in his confusion — the divine right of the king & of the people — the protest against *hedendaagsche* communism, the defence of constitutional monarchy against the republic (though in this there is an atom of historical presentiment in Holland) & finally protectionism. One may well be called Ph. v. R. v. Fl. It is also good that he reproaches the bourgeoisie with wanting first to fill their own purses and then to sell the country, sucked dry by them, to the Prussian then aflame for it. That should be sent to Bismark.
Your F. E.
