Dear Moor,

Enclosed, what I have found from Davies and other sources on Irish landed property around 1600. But the post is just closing, so I must be brief today. As to the Solingen people, all right. That we both have a special interest in these people was also my view from the outset. I will probably go to Barmen next week, as my mother absolutely insists that I spend another Christmas at home for once, and it is quite possible that I shall go to Solingen as well and see the people myself. The correcting of the incorrect reports can naturally be of no help. That would have to be done every week. I have Curran here in what is probably a far more complete edition, but I shall probably get the new edition as well. For the present I have enough to do with the old stories up to 1660; as soon as I am done with that, the period 1782–1800 will naturally be of the greatest interest to me. But I want to finish off the old stuff first, especially since I find that the original relations from 1172 to 1600 have everywhere been depicted totally falsely, and I am only gradually getting at the original sources. Have you heard nothing from Prendergast yet? The book will soon become indispensable to me, or its absence will be highly embarrassing. More tomorrow.
Your F. E.
