1 May, 1869. Dear Fred, The enclosed letter to our Belgian secretary will become clear to you from the enclosed “Cigale”, the organ of the French Branch, of which an analogue has formed in Brussels and one (Comité de l’avenir) in Geneva, all together a couple of dozen men under Pyat’s leadership. My wife is still very unwell, but thinks she can leave for Paris on Tuesday. It is again just before gate-closing, i.e., the post office closing. I think I shall finally get to write to you in more detail tomorrow. Salut! D KM.
