Memorandum from Ermen & Engels to M Lieber Mohr

You must consider me entirely suspended this week. I have such a frightful lot of work in the office in consequence of the sudden cotton advance that I do not get out of the counting-house from morning till 7 in the evening and do not get my dinner before 8 p.m. What one is then still capable of, you understand. I hope the damned carbuncle has subsided. Warm greetings to your wife, the girls, and Lafargue.

Your F. E.
