Resolution of 28 June 1870

L’Égalité,
No. 26, 13 July 1870

The General Council to the
Romand Federal Committee.

Considering

That, although a majority of delegates at the Congress of La Chaux-de-Fonds appointed a new Romand Federal Committee, that majority was only nominal;

That the Romand Federal Committee in Geneva, having always fulfilled its obligations towards the General Council and towards the International Working Men’s Association, and having always conformed to the Rules of the Association, the General Council has no right to deprive it of its title;

The General Council, at its meeting of 28 June 1870, unanimously resolved that the Romand Federal Committee sitting in Geneva should retain its title, and that the Federal Committee sitting in La Chaux-de-Fonds should adopt whatever other local title it saw fit to adopt.

In the name and by order of the General Council of the International Working Men’s Association,

H. Jung,
Secretary for Switzerland.
