Dear Weydemeyer,

How stand matters with our “Revue”? And in particular with the money? The question is becoming all the more pressing because here every move is being made by the Prussian side with the English government to exile me from England as well. If I were not sitting here sans le sou, I should already have moved into the interior of England and the government would have lost sight of me.

How stand matters with the “red number”? Orders for it have come here from America. How many copies of it have been sold? How many do you still have?

Your paper? appears to be joining with the others in a conspiration du silence? against our “Revue”. I realise, of course, that for the readership of the Neue Deutsche Zeitung Raveaux is more interesting.

Greetings to Dronke and your wife.
