Herr Raumer Lives Still

["Neue Rheinische Zeitung" No. 162 of December 7, 1848]

*

Cologne, December 6. Recently we mentioned the loyal addresses submitted by Halle and Berlin professors to the King. We have to report today that Herr von Raumer, imperial envoy *in partibus*, currently antechambering with Bastide and Cavaignac, has completely associated himself with the professorial disgrace by a declaration of accession to that address. From an imperial envoy like Herr Raumer nothing else was indeed to be expected. His declaration seems, however, to have yet another reason. Herr Raumer has been missing in Germany for months. In his longing to be delivered from that obscurity in some way, he eagerly seized the opportunity offered him by his Berlin fellow bigwigs and hastily got the aforesaid declaration into the public domain. That Raumerian product is to be found deposited in the latest number of the *Preußischer Staats-Anzeiger*.
