will appear in the course of this week before the local examining magistrate’s court, in order to be examined on their vote concerning the tax refusal and on their participation in the tax-refusal resolution. We confine ourselves to the simple communication of this telling fact.

The *Neue Rheinische Zeitung* may congratulate itself that, on February 7, the Zweiffel outrage was dashed against the stony hearts of the jurors. For Herr Procurator Bölling intended, in the event of a verdict of guilty, to impose upon us a surety of 4,000 thalers. Has the imposed Constitution not abolished all sureties?
