Comrades! Everyone is very happy today, and I am happy too, ...

The establishment of Nü Da is of extremely great political significance. It is not only to train a large number of women cadres armed with theory, but also to train a large number of cadres for practical work in the women's movement, to prepare to go to the front lines, to the rural villages and factories, to organize the two hundred thirty-five million women to participate in the War of Resistance. If China does not have the awakening of women, who make up half the population, China's War of Resistance will not be victorious. Women have an extremely important role in the War of Resistance: educating children, encouraging husbands, and educating the masses all must go through women; only when all women are mobilized will the entire Chinese people also surely be mobilized, this is without question.

Nü Da has now been established, and it must be sustained in the future. To sustain it, it must go through an even greater and more protracted struggle. We are running Nü Da, and some people do not approve. First among them are those "die-hard elements." They do not approve, they set up barriers, block students from all regions from coming to Yan'an to study, and are unwilling for women to achieve thorough liberation.

Secondly, it is also necessary to struggle against the concept of looking down on the women's movement, because they cannot see the role of women and neglect the great strength of women in the revolution. Only by overcoming these obstacles can the present Nü Da develop.

I hope that the comrades among the faculty and staff of Nü Da will work with peace of mind and be resolved to prepare for long-term work. Our Party should have many people who specialize in educational work. ...

Finally, I will conclude with "The day the women of the entire nation rise up is the time of the Chinese revolution's victory."
