Mao Zedong
November 24th
[1] Le Tianzi, an agricultural and forestry scientist. He first met Mao Zedong while studying in Changsha in his youth, and joined the Communist Party of China in 1923.
On January 18, 1975, he wrote a letter to Mao Zedong and others, reporting that certain factional elements within the former forestry system were attempting to expel him from the Party. In the letter, he stated: “My entire past has already been verified in 1972 by a special commissioner dispatched by the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, and there are no historical issues whatsoever.” He requested that the Central Committee “allow me to return to my original borrowing unit (where I had been seconded from the Chinese Academy of Sciences to the Ministry of Forestry) so that I may, in my later years, make whatever modest contribution I can to the Party’s cause.” Mao Zedong’s remarks were written directly on Le Tianzi’s letter.

On November 25, 1975, when he submitted Mao Zedong’s comments along with Le Tianyu’s letter to Deng Xiaoping and other Vice Chairmen of the CPC Central Committee, Wang wrote: “It is suggested that the Political Work Group of the State Council be asked to conduct an investigation and submit a report.”
