Mao Zedong

[1] This first piece is written on a summary of a letter dated January 4, 1973, from the wife and daughter of Li Yimeng, former Vice Minister of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee. The letter states that Li Yimeng is 70 years old, suffers from hypertension, heart disease, emphysema, and other ailments, and earnestly requests the Chairman's approval for him to be released from prison for medical treatment. This second piece is written on a letter from Shu Tong, former Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, to Mao Zedong in March 1973. The letter requests an early formal conclusion to his case, restoration of his organizational life, and permission to participate in certain work. In 1977, after his comeback, Shu Tong served as Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Revolutionary Committee. This third piece is written on a letter from Lin Tie, former First Secretary of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee, in June 1973, addressed to an advisor of the Central Organization Department.
