Mao Zedong
June 15, 1972

[1] This instruction was written on *Excerpts from Important Letters* No. 130, compiled and printed by the Petition Office of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee on June 13, 1972. The excerpt reported that Li Keru, former president of Gansu Agricultural University, wrote in a letter stating that he joined the Party in 1926 and participated in the Autumn Harvest Uprising. During the "Cultural Revolution," he was persecuted due to a fabricated case labeling him a "traitor," which disrupted his political life. Now nearly 70 years old, he is in the limited twilight years of his service to the Party and urgently requests that his case be resolved and that he be assigned work. After the end of the "Cultural Revolution," Li Keru served as Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Gansu Provincial People's Congress.
