[1] The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued a notice on October 3,
1971, stating that in order to thoroughly investigate and clarify the history of the anti-Party
clique of Lin Biao and Chen Boda, the Central Committee decided to establish a special case
team to handle the relevant issues. The special case team consisted of 10 people, including
Zhou Enlai, and had a working group under it, with Ji Dengkui and Wang Dongxing in charge
of daily work. In the future, all localities and units reporting to the Central Committee about
the Lin Biao and Chen Boda anti-Party clique should submit them to the special case team
for unified handling.
