To Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho of the Central Committee of the National Liberation Front of
South Vietnam and Chairman Hoang Tan Phat of the Provisional Revolutionary Government
of the Republic of South Vietnam:
On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the founding of the National Liberation Front of
South Vietnam, on behalf of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese government, and
the Chinese people, we extend our warmest congratulations to the National Liberation Front
of South Vietnam and the people of South Vietnam fighting on the anti-U.S. front.
The National Liberation Front of South Vietnam was born in the storm of revolution and has
traversed a glorious decade of struggle. It represents the fundamental interests of the
people of South Vietnam and serves as the great standard-bearer of their war against the
United States and for national salvation. It has achieved remarkable feats in the sacred cause
of liberating the South, defending the North, and reunifying the motherland.
The heroic people of South Vietnam persevered in the great people's war for a full decade,
beating the superpower, U.S. imperialism, into a trance and leaving it helpless. Your victory
has greatly inspired the revolutionary spirit of the people of smaller nations to bravely resist
aggression by a major power and has powerfully propelled the anti-U.S. struggle of people
worldwide. The Chinese people thank you, and the people of the world thank you.
Although U.S. imperialism is at its wit's end, it continues its desperate struggle. Recently, it
has launched frenzied attacks on North Vietnam, constantly issuing war threats and
intensifying preparations for new military adventures. This will in no way save it from its
inevitable demise. The peoples of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia have formed a resolute anti-
U.S. united front. Sharing a common hatred for the enemy, you have fought shoulder to
shoulder, creating a remarkably favourable situation. We believe that the peoples of the
three Indochinese countries, through their persistent and protracted people's war, will
surely drive the U.S. invaders out of Indochina.
Supporting the Vietnamese people and the peoples of Indochina in their war against the
United States and for national salvation is the proletarian internationalist duty of the
Chinese people. No matter what difficulties and obstacles the peoples of Indochina
encounter on their path to resist the United States and for national salvation, and no matter
how reckless the military adventures of the American invaders may be, the seven hundred
million Chinese people will stand firmly with you and give you our all until complete victory
is achieved in the war against the United States and for national salvation.
