That is, pure salt, which is a combination of these two elements.

[1] The first part of this article is a commentary on a report from the Jiangxi Provincial
Revolutionary Committee. The report states that, following Chairman Mao's instructions, the
people of the old revolutionary base areas in Jiangxi and the staff of the 99th Geological
Team, after more than three months of hard work, reported, searched for, and explored for
minerals. On March 3rd of this year, a large salt mine was discovered in Zhoutian Commune,
Huichang County. Preliminary estimates indicate a geological reserve of 1.9 billion tons.
Chemical analysis indicates excellent quality, with 97.7% sodium chloride. From discovery to
production, it took only 47 days, ending the history of salt shortages in the three western
regions. Currently, an annual salt production capacity of 15,000 tons has been established,
with nearly 1,000 tons of cooking materials produced. Mao Zedong included a parenthetical
commentary after the word "sodium chloride" in the report, which forms the second part of
this article. On September 2, 1970, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee
distributed Mao Zedong's comments, along with the report of the Jiangxi Provincial
Revolutionary Committee, to the comrades attending the Second Plenary Session of the
Ninth CPC Central Committee in Lushan.
