As instructed.

[1] This document issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on June
12, 1969 pointed out that since the "Cultural Revolution", in the issue of promoting
Chairman Mao's image and Mao Zedong Thought, there have been problems of not
highlighting proletarian politics, pursuing forms, and exaggerating and wasting in some
places. For this reason, the following suggestions for improvement are put forward: First,
leaders at all levels should actively guide the masses to learn and apply Mao Zedong
Thought in a flexible manner, do a good job in ideological revolution, do not pursue forms,
and pay attention to effectiveness. Second, reiterate the Central Committee's "Instructions
on the Construction of Chairman Mao's Statue" on July 13, 1967. In the future, the
construction of Chairman Mao's statue must be strictly implemented in accordance with this
instruction. Third, Chairman Mao's badges cannot be made without the approval of the
Central Committee. Fourth, newspapers should not use Chairman Mao's image as the front
page painting. Fifth, all kinds of items and packaging, etc., should not print Chairman Mao's
image; quotations from Chairman Mao should also be appropriate; it is forbidden to print
Chairman Mao's image on porcelain. 6. The word "loyalty" has class content, so don't post it
randomly or abuse it; don't launch a "loyalty" movement; don't build feudal-style buildings.
If you do, you should deal with them appropriately. 7. Don't engage in formalistic activities
such as "asking for instructions in the morning and reporting in the evening", reading
quotations before meals, and saluting the Chairman's statue.
