Concerning Dispatching Workers to Enter Military Academies
Together with Military Control Personnel
(1968, 8th month)

If the conditions of the workers are ripe, all military academies should dispatch workers to enter together with military control personnel. Shatter the unified domain monopolized by intellectuals.

*This comment was written on a report dated August 20, 1968, from the Operations Group of the Central Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee, which proposed implementing military control over certain military academies. The report suggested that military control be imposed on 53 military academies that had "not yet established revolutionary committees, not yet achieved great revolutionary unity, and were long engaged in 'civil war,' with many serious problems remaining." In addition to sending leading cadres and ordinary cadres to participate in the military control, it was proposed to select a group of activists in studying Chairman Mao's works and some "Five-Good" soldiers from the troops to form powerful Mao Zedong Thought propaganda teams to enter the schools. On September 2, 1968, the Central Military Commission and the Central Cultural Revolution Group issued the "Notice on Workers Entering Military Academies and Implementing Military Control in Military Academies That Have Not Yet United," which cited this comment by Mao Zedong.*
