Comments and Revisions on the Editorial Article “Unite to Fight the Common Enemy” from People’s Daily and PLA Daily

(August 20, 1968)

To be issued as is.

Printed from Mao Zedong’s handwritten draft.

Under the leadership of the Revolutionary Committees, propaganda teams imbued with Mao Zedong Thought—composed primarily of workers and including PLA officers and soldiers—have been systematically dispatched to schools and all other units where the struggle, criticism, and transformation have not yet been thoroughly carried out. This move promotes broad revolutionary unity, facilitates the cleansing of the class ranks, advances the educational revolution, and ensures that the struggle, criticism, and transformation are earnestly and effectively implemented. It represents a revolutionary initiative in line with Chairman Mao’s grand strategic deployment.

Printed according to Mao Zedong’s revised version.
