Speech After Hearing the Report of the Hydrogen Bomb Work Conference
(July 7, 1967)

New weapons, missiles, and atomic bombs have been developed very quickly. The hydrogen bomb was produced in two years and eight months. Our development speed has surpassed that of the United States, Britain, the Soviet Union, and France. Now we rank fourth in the world. Great achievements have been made in missiles and atomic bombs. This is the result of Khrushchev's "help." He withdrew the experts, forcing us to take our own path. We should award him a one-ton medal.

The current situation is excellent. The Nagas in India are opposing the Congress Party and engaging in armed struggle. The Communist Party of Indonesia has settled accounts with revisionism and risen again. The guerrillas in Burma have developed greatly. They have a stronger foundation than the armed struggle in Thailand and have been active for decades. In the past, the party was not united (Red Flag Party, White Flag Party), but now they have unified. The opposition to Ne Win is unanimous, and the areas of armed activity already account for sixty percent of Burma's territory. Burma's geographical conditions are even better than those of South Vietnam, with a large maneuvering space. Thailand's geographical conditions are also very good. When Burma rises and Thailand rises, this will completely bog down the United States in Southeast Asia. Of course, we must also focus on fighting early and fighting a large-scale war on our own territory. It is even better if the Burmese government opposes us. We hope it will sever diplomatic relations with us, so that we can more openly support the Communist Party of Burma. The situation in Asia is so; armed struggles in Africa and Latin America have also greatly developed. U.S. imperialism is increasingly isolated. People all over the world know that U.S. imperialism is the chief culprit of war. People across the world and the American people oppose it. Soviet revisionism has also been further exposed, especially in this Middle East event. The Soviet revisionists still follow Khrushchev's old methods. Initially, they sent over two thousand military experts to the UAR. First, they adopted adventurism, dispatched warships, and persuaded the UAR not to strike first. At the same time, they used a hotline to inform Johnson (Khrushchev did not yet have a hotline then).

After Johnson received the hotline message, he quickly informed Israel, which launched a sudden attack, destroying sixty percent of the UAR's aircraft on the ground. The Soviet Union provided a total of 3.3 billion in aid to the UAR. Two billion was destroyed, and finally, the UAR surrendered and ceased the war. This is another major exposure of betraying the nation. Not only the Arab countries, but also Asia and Latin America oppose the Soviet Union. The suicide of a Soviet man in his seventies is a sign of dissatisfaction. Shortly after the Middle East war, the Soviet Union convened three meetings of Eastern European countries. Romania did not sign and did not sever diplomatic relations with Israel. Later, Maurer came to China wanting comprehensive economic collaboration with us. Individual economic collaboration is acceptable, but we will not engage in comprehensive collaboration. The imperialists and revisionists have become even more isolated. The Vietnam War persists. Currently, anti-China movements exist in many places, giving the impression that we are isolated. In reality, their anti-China stance stems from fear of China's influence, fear of the influence of Mao Zedong Thought, and fear of the impact of the Cultural Revolution. Anti-China actions are used to suppress their domestic populations and divert the people's dissatisfaction with their rule. This anti-China campaign is jointly plotted by U.S. imperialism and Soviet revisionism. It does not indicate our isolation; rather, it shows that our influence worldwide has greatly increased. The more they oppose China, the more they promote the people's revolution. The people of these countries recognize that China's path is the only path to liberation. Our China is not only the political center of world revolution, but we must also become the center of world revolution militarily and technologically. We must provide them with weapons. Now we can openly give them weapons, Chinese weapons with inscriptions (except for some special regions). We must openly support them and become the arsenal of world revolution. However, many of our technical problems remain unsolved.

We must also firmly grasp the work on □□, □□□, □□□□. The Premier criticized the "Fourth Ministry of Machine Building for being backward."
