[I] This comment was written in the "Important Events Report" (2) compiled and published
by the Cultural Revolution Group Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of
China on May 26, 1967. This issue of the "Important Events Report" stated that according to
the Yunnan Provincial Public Security Bureau, on the evening of the 22nd, 17 people
claiming to be Red Guards raided the home of Yunnan Vice Governor Wang Shaoyan,
confiscating watches, cameras, cash, and passbooks. They were arrested when they were
trying to withdraw money. The participants were all middle school students, six of whom
were from Beijing, and the remaining 11, except for two, were children of high-ranking
officials.
