This comment was written beside the article "The Situation of Military Training Conducted at Two Beijing Middle Schools," published in the special issue *Trends in the Cultural Revolution* of *Internal Reference*, compiled and printed by Xinhua News Agency on 13 February 1967. The article stated that, in accordance with Chairman Mao's instructions, troops stationed in Beijing recently conducted pilot military training for revolutionary teachers and students at Beijing No. 2 Middle School and No. 25 Middle School, achieving very good results. The military training at both schools was carried out in stages. In the first stage, Chairman Mao's essay "Analysis of the Classes in Chinese Society" was used as the main teaching material, mobilizing the masses to expose and criticize the bourgeois reactionary line, strictly distinguish between the two different types of contradictions, differentiate between enemies, ourselves, and friends, and achieve the two objectives of "both clarifying thinking and uniting comrades," thereby eliminating estrangement among various mass organizations. In the second stage, Chairman Mao's essay "On Correcting Mistaken Ideas in the Party" was used as the main teaching material, guiding teachers and students to deeply criticize various non-proletarian ideas hindering the great alliance of the revolutionary factions, vigorously dig out selfishness, thoroughly smash individualism, departmentalism, and mountain-stronghold mentality, and carry out the great alliance and great seizure of power by revolutionary organizations.
