Refers to “My Opinions on the ‘Four Cleanups’ Movement at Peking University,” written on 5 May 1966 by Zhang Sici, a cadre of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism (formerly a teacher in the Philosophy Department of Peking University). This material put forward some sharp views on issues such as the leadership of the “Four Cleanups” work team at Peking University, the Peking University Party Committee, and the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China over the “Four Cleanups” movement at Peking University, as well as Peking University’s implementation of educational policies. When Mao Zedong gave the instruction to print and distribute it, he changed the title to “Comrade Zhang Enci’s Opinions on the ‘Four Cleanups’ Movement at Peking University.”

Shaoqi, namely Liu Shaoqi. On 13 May 1966, he issued the instruction to Wang Dongxing, Director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China: “This document should be immediately printed and distributed to all comrades attending the enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau.” This enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, convened to comprehensively launch the “Great Cultural Revolution,” was held in Beijing from 4 to 26 May 1966.
