Comments on the Draft List of the Preparatory Committee for the Centenary Commemoration of Sun Yat-sen’s Birth [1] (September 30, 1965) There is no Chen Yun [2]; it would seem appropriate to include him.
Printed from Mao Zedong’s manuscript on September 30.
Notes [1] These comments were written on Zhou Enlai’s report of September 23, 1965, addressed to Mao Zedong and others, concerning matters related to the centenary commemoration of Sun Yat-sen’s birth.
The report proposed that the preparatory meeting be held on the anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, with Chairman Liu Shaoqi delivering a brief address; the draft of his speech had already been prepared by Peng Zhen at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
The report also included a draft list of the Preparatory Committee for the Centenary Commemoration of Sun Yat-sen’s Birth.
Following Mao Zedong’s comments, Chen Yun was added to the committee’s roster. [2] Chen Yun was at the time Vice Chairman of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council.
