A comment on a request for instructions report from the International Liaison Department
(March 10, 1965)

Comrade Zhao Yimin, please send one copy each in Chinese and English for my comparative reading. Please inform Comrade Chen Ping[2]: I have read their statement and feel very pleased. It is a Marxist statement that is both clear-cut and powerful.

[1] This comment was written on the request for instructions report submitted by Zhao Yimin, Vice Minister of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, to Peng Zhen, Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, on March 5, 1965, regarding the CPC Central Committee’s entrustment by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Malaya to forward its statement on the international communist movement to other left-wing parties. The report stated that on the afternoon of March 4, responsible comrades of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Malaya in Beijing entrusted the department to deliver to the CPC Central Committee one copy each of the Chinese, Malay, and English versions of the *Statement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Malaya on the International Communist Movement*. Additionally, ten copies of each of the three language versions were provided, requesting the Chinese side to forward them on their behalf to ten Marxist-Leninist fraternal parties: Korea, Vietnam, Albania, Indonesia, Japan, Burma, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, and Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). The report proposed specific methods for the forwarding and requested instructions. The main content of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Malaya’s statement on the international communist movement, dated January 31, 1965, was to expose that the leadership of the CPSU, after Khrushchev’s downfall, still adhered to Khrushchev’s revisionist line, and to point out that open polemics could help distinguish right from wrong and contribute to promoting genuine unity within the international communist movement. This statement was published in *Renmin Ribao* on April 2, 1965.

[2] Chen Ping was then the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Malaya.
