Three

The CPSU leadership, after exerting herculean efforts, using both hard and soft tactics, and scraping things together, has finally managed to convene a fragmented meeting. This meeting is filled with a scene of desolation and sparseness. It is a small schismatic meeting, it is a very unseemly meeting.

Four

The new leadership of the CPSU has taken over certain slogans put forward by the Marxist-Leninists, attempting to create a false impression, as if they have already changed, as if they are already different from Khrushchev's[4] revisionism and splittism. How similar this situation is to U.S. imperialism taking over some of the main slogans of the CPSU leadership! Khrushchev's slogans or conspiratorial plans, such as peaceful coexistence, peaceful competition, peaceful transition, easing of tensions, general and complete disarmament, domination of the world by the two great powers, joint aid to India, joint support for reactionaries in all countries, joint use of the United Nations to suppress revolutionary movements throughout the world, joint opposition to China, and so on, have all been taken over by U.S. imperialism! The CPSU leadership is on intimate terms with U.S. imperialism, exchanging intelligence, jointly opposing communism, opposing the people, opposing revolution, and opposing the national liberation movement, in order to jointly maintain imperialism, revisionism, and the reactionaries of all countries, and to oppose all revolutionaries in the world.

Five

In order to smoothly carry on the struggle against imperialism and the reactionaries of all countries, and in order to further consolidate the unity of the international proletariat, it is necessary to continue to expose the true face of the modern revisionists, to help those who do not understand the truth to understand the truth, to help those who are wavering on the revolutionary road to advance together with the revolutionary people, and it is necessary to isolate to the greatest extent the modern revisionists who act as accomplices for imperialism and the reactionaries of all countries, and to carry the struggle against Khrushchev revisionism through to the end.

Six

In the entire history of the international communist movement, Khrushchev's performance is but a very short interlude, much shorter than the performances of the old revisionists Bernstein[5] or Kautsky[6]. In the future, anyone who wants to perform Khrushchevism without Khrushchev can only be like Khrushchev, a very short interlude.

Seven

Comrades Xiaoping, Peng Zhen[7], and Kang Sheng: If you can stay for one day today, I would like to talk with you once more. Please consider and decide.

Mao Zedong
4 a.m., March 18

I would also like to ask Comrades Han Xianchu and Chen Zaidao[8] to stay for two more days, to talk on the 19th, and fly to Beijing on the 20th. I wonder if this is possible? I ask Comrades Han and Chen to consider and decide.

When Mao Zedong reviewed it on March 11, 1965, the title was changed to "On the Moscow Schismatic Meeting." The article was divided into four parts and originally had no subheadings. It was studied at Mao Zedong's place on March 18, and it was decided to add the following subheadings: (1) What Kind of Meeting Is This; (2) What Have the New Leaders of the CPSU Done; (3) Answering a Few Questions; (4) Unite on the Track of Marxism-Leninism and Revolution. This article was published in the *People's Daily* on March 23 and in the third issue of the *Red Flag* magazine of 1965, under the title "On the Moscow Meeting of March."

The letter said, "After we returned, we revised it again together with Comrades Xiaoping and Peng Zhen. If the Chairman reads it tonight, we will return to Beijing tomorrow; if the Chairman reads it tomorrow, we will return the day after." At that time, Mao Zedong was in Wuhan.
