--- Notes

This refers to the report from the Chinese Embassy in the Soviet Union to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the domestic situation in the Soviet Union, which is divided into three parts: 1. Some manifestations of capitalist restoration in the Soviet Union's socialist enterprises under ownership by the whole people; 2. Some circumstances of the rampant flood of capitalist forces in Soviet social life; 3. The contradictions between the Khrushchev revisionist clique and the masses of the people. The report puts forward five points of view in the end: 1. The contradictions between the broad masses of the people and the Khrushchev revisionist clique are currently reflected more in economic life. 2. The healthy forces in the Soviet Union do not yet have a powerful organization with theory and experience. 3. The level of consciousness of the people is not yet high enough, and there are still many points of confusion in their understanding. 4. Khrushchev can still control the situation within the leading clique, but as his internal and external policies continuously suffer defeat, internal divergences and contradictions will inevitably increase. 5. The Soviet people's level of understanding, theoretical level, and experience in actual struggle will gradually be raised and enriched, and they will gradually form a powerful organization to oppose the Khrushchev revisionist clique, take more powerful actions, until they achieve final victory.

Khrushchev, formerly First Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union. On October 14 and 15, 1964, he was successively removed from these two posts.
