Comrade T. Zhivkov, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the People's Republic of Bulgaria,
Comrade G. Traykov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Assembly of the People's Republic of Bulgaria:

On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Bulgarian socialist revolution, we extend our warm congratulations to you and to the fraternal Bulgarian people. We congratulate the Bulgarian people on the achievements they have made in the cause of socialist construction.

A profound friendship exists between the peoples of China and Bulgaria. To safeguard and strengthen this friendship not only fully conforms to the common aspirations of the peoples of our two countries, but is also beneficial to the unity of the socialist camp. The Chinese people will, as always, on the basis of Marxism-Leninism and proletarian internationalism, and on the basis of the revolutionary principles of the 1957 Declaration and the 1960 Statement, continue to strive to strengthen the friendship and unity of the peoples of our two countries, to strengthen the unity of the socialist camp, to oppose the imperialist policies of aggression and war, and to defend world peace.

May the Bulgarian people achieve new successes in the cause of building their motherland. May the fraternal friendship between the peoples of China and Bulgaria be consolidated and developed.
