[1] This is Mao Zedong's comment on a report by the Party Leadership Group of the Second Ministry of Machine Building dated 15 January 1964.

[2] The report by the Party Leadership Group of the Second Ministry of Machine Building stated: At our ministry's gaseous diffusion plant for producing enriched uranium hexafluoride, after the fifth batch of main equipment was put into operation, qualified products began to be obtained on the morning of 14 January 1964. The production of this product provides the most basic condition for the manufacture of atomic weapons for our country. The report also proposed to continue following Chairman Mao's instruction to "vigorously coordinate and do this work well" and Premier Zhou Enlai's instruction to "seek truth from facts, advance step by step, persevere unremittingly, and guard against arrogance and rashness," and, under the direct leadership of the Central Special Commission, to remain modest and prudent, work conscientiously and steadfastly, and strive to better accomplish future tasks.
