[I] Refers to the article “Has Khrushchev Changed His Attitude?” published in the Cambodia Telegraph and carried in the Xinhua News Agency’s Reference Materials on July 31, 1963. The article points out that in the Sino-Soviet dispute, the Soviet Union distorted China’s views on the question of nuclear war, and its accusations against China on the issue of peaceful coexistence coincide precisely with those of Western countries. People had originally hoped for a compromise between China and the Soviet Union, but the fait accompli of Khrushchev drawing closer to the West has completely dashed such hopes. This article was published in Renmin Ribao on August 1, 1963.
