Havana
Telegram on the Tenth Anniversary of the Armed Uprising
(July 25, 1963)

Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the National Directorate of the United Party of the Socialist Revolution of Cuba and Prime Minister of the Revolutionary Government of Cuba,
Comrade Osvaldo Dorticós Torrado, President of the Republic of Cuba:

On the glorious occasion of the tenth anniversary of the armed uprising of the Cuban people, we, on behalf of the Chinese people, the Communist Party of China, and the Chinese Government, extend warm congratulations to the heroic Cuban people, the United Party of the Socialist Revolution of Cuba, and the Revolutionary Government of Cuba.

Ten years ago, Comrade Fidel Castro led the Cuban people in an armed uprising, launching the heroic assault on the Moncada Barracks, which revealed a correct revolutionary road for the Cuban people. Thereafter, the Cuban people underwent arduous struggles, finally overthrew the dictatorial rule of Batista, the lackey of U.S. imperialism, resolutely embarked on the socialist road, and established the first socialist state on the American continent. The Cuban people have also continuously waged resolute and tenacious struggles against U.S. imperialism and its lackeys, victoriously repulsing one armed invasion after another by U.S. imperialism. This has not only safeguarded the fruits of the Cuban revolution, national sovereignty, and dignity, but has also made a tremendous contribution to the cause of defending world peace.

The victory of the Cuban people's revolution is a great historical event of the contemporary era, setting a brilliant example for the revolutionary struggles of the peoples of Latin America. The Cuban people, with their own revolutionary experience and their own revolutionary experience and the experience of the Latin American people's revolutionary struggles, have written the two Havana Declarations of great revolutionary significance, putting forward a revolutionary program for the united struggle of the Cuban people and the peoples of Latin America, which has greatly inspired the confidence of all oppressed nations in Latin America and throughout the world in their struggle for liberation. We are deeply convinced that no force in the world can stop the historical torrent of the revolutionary struggles of the peoples of Latin America, and that the peoples of Latin America will surely win final victory in their struggle for liberation.

U.S. imperialism will never resign itself to its defeat, nor will it abandon its interference in and aggression against Cuba. We firmly believe that the Cuban people, relying on their own close unity and tenacious struggle and with the support of all revolutionary peoples in Latin America and throughout the world, will certainly be able to foil the intrigues of U.S. imperialism, overcome all difficulties, and advance victoriously along the socialist road. The Chinese people reaffirm that they resolutely support the Cuban people's revolutionary struggle against U.S. imperialism. The Chinese people have been, are, and will forever be the most faithful and intimate comrades-in-arms of the Cuban people. The militant friendship forged between the Chinese and Cuban peoples in the struggle against their common enemy can withstand all severe tests.

Wish the Cuban people still greater victories in their revolutionary and constructive undertakings. Wish the militant friendship between the Chinese and Cuban peoples last forever.
