On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, we, on behalf of the Communist Party of China, the Government of the People’s Republic of China, and the Chinese people, extend to you, and through you, to the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, the Government of Czechoslovakia, and the Czechoslovak people, our warm congratulations.

Five years ago, the signing of the Sino-Czechoslovak Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation marked a significant development in the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Czechoslovakia. The conclusion of this treaty not only further consolidated and developed the friendship, unity, mutual assistance, and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries but also played a positive role in advancing the common cause of building socialism in both countries, strengthening the unity of the socialist camp, and safeguarding world peace. It will continue to play a positive role in the future.

The fraternal friendship between the peoples of China and Czechoslovakia is built upon the principles of Marxism-Leninism and proletarian internationalism, and it is eternal and unbreakable. The Communist Party of China, the Chinese Government, and the Chinese people have always cherished the friendship and unity between China and Czechoslovakia. In the years to come,
