To Mao Anqing (January 12, 1962)
Anqing, my son:
Your letter has been received, and I am very pleased. You are now hospitalized for treatment; I hope you will follow the doctor’s advice and not change the methods of treatment or rest. Everything will be resolved when the opportunity matures in the first half of this year.
I am well, though occasionally troubled by minor ailments that pass quickly. Do not be concerned.
Wishing you well!
Father
