Chairman Mao expressed deep sympathy and support for the struggles of the peoples of Africa and the Arab countries against imperialism. He pointed out that the current international situation is highly favorable to the anti-imperialist struggle of the peoples of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Chairman Mao stated that in the course of fighting imperialism, it is possible to achieve victory by adopting the correct line, relying on the workers and peasants, uniting the broad ranks of revolutionary intellectuals, the petty bourgeoisie, the national bourgeoisie opposed to imperialism, and all patriotic anti-imperialist forces, and maintaining close ties with the masses.

Chairman Mao emphasized that revolutionary parties and forces are initially in a minority, yet they possess the greatest prospects for the future.

Chairman Mao sternly condemned U.S. imperialist aggression against Cuba, noting that America’s impatience to attack Cuba has once again exposed its true nature before the eyes of the world. This demonstrates that the Kennedy administration is no better than, but rather worse than, the Eisenhower administration. Furthermore, U.S. imperialism’s use of the United Nations as an instrument to invade the Congo and assassinate Lumumba has further heightened African peoples’ awareness of U.S. imperialism.

Chairman Mao expressed his approval of the recent desire voiced at the Bandung Conference for Asian and African peoples to strengthen solidarity with the peoples of Latin America, calling it a positive development that serves the common cause of the world’s peoples in their struggle against imperialism.

Chairman Mao said that the Chinese people regard the victories of the anti-imperialist struggles of the peoples of Asia, Africa, and Latin America as their own, and extend warm sympathy and support to all their efforts against imperialism and colonialism.
