This report, sent by the Chinese Embassy in Poland to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Liaison Department on July 18, 1960, states that Aleksander Zawadzki, Chairman of the Council of State of Poland, in his speech at the 550th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Grunwald, mentioned the need to strengthen friendship with China. Zawadzki said: "We shall rally ever more closely within the 'Front of National Unity' to strengthen our economic and defense capabilities, and to strengthen our friendship with the Soviet Union, the People's Republic of China, and all countries of the socialist camp." This marks the second time, following Gomułka's May Day speech, that a Polish leader has mentioned the Soviet Union and China together and emphasized the strengthening of friendship with China.
