Esteemed Dr. Fidel Castro, Prime Minister of Cuba: I am very pleased to have met your comrade-in-arms, Major William Gálvez Rodríguez, Inspector General of the Cuban Rebel Army, and I am most grateful for the warm and friendly greetings you sent through him.

The national and democratic revolutionary struggle of the Cuban people has won the praise and respect of the people of the whole world.

The heroic Cuban people, through protracted and arduous struggle, overthrew the reactionary dictatorial rule of the imperialist lackeys.

After the victory of the revolution, you have valiantly resisted the aggression and threats of U.S. imperialism and carried out the land reform and other reforms which conform to the interests of the broad masses of the people and are necessary for the prosperity of the national economy.

You are waging a just revolutionary struggle in the region closest to the United States.

Every victory you win deals a heavy blow to the imperialist reactionary forces headed by the United States.

The people of the whole world who strive for peace and progress, especially the people of the Latin American countries, have greatly enhanced their courage and confidence in victory through your victorious struggle.

The Chinese people and I myself have always been most concerned about the revolutionary struggle of the Cuban people under your leadership.

The Chinese people, who have long lived in revolutionary struggle, feel a special closeness to your struggle.

The same sufferings and the common struggle have closely linked our two peoples together.

In the struggle against U.S. imperialism, we support and inspire each other.

Every achievement, advance, and victory you gain gladdens us.

Every act of aggression, bombing, and sabotage you suffer from the U.S. imperialists fills us with extreme indignation.

The Chinese people and the Cuban people are comrades-in-arms sharing weal and woe.

We will continue to support your just cause with our own victorious struggle and with all the help within our power.

The victorious outcome of the struggle of the people of the world against imperialism is already definitely beyond doubt.

This is an objective law of historical development independent of the subjective will of imperialism and the reactionaries of various countries.

Imperialism and the reactionaries of various countries are adopting and preparing to adopt all kinds of vicious and brutal measures in an attempt to save themselves from destruction.

Many difficulties still confront our two peoples and the people of the whole world.

The future struggle of Cuba and the people of other countries will still be arduous, complex, and tortuous.

However, so long as the revolutionary leading cores of various countries broadly unite all forces that can be united and rely on the unremitting struggle of the broadest masses of the people, no force in the world can prevent the people from advancing.

We firmly believe that the broadest masses of the people in all countries will most certainly be able to unite most closely, form the broadest united front, overcome all kinds of difficulties on the path of advance, and achieve the complete victory of the just cause of opposing imperialism, opposing the reactionaries of various countries, defending national independence, and striving for social liberation.

Please accept, esteemed Prime Minister of Cuba, the lofty respects of the entire Chinese people and myself.

I wish you good health! May the friendship between the Chinese and Cuban peoples grow daily! May the revolutionary cause of the Cuban people achieve still greater victories!
