[2] This piece (1) (2) was written on the report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Chinese Embassy in the Soviet Union on October 8, 1959. The report said that Khrushchev made his first public speech in Vladivostok on the 6th of this month after returning from his visit to China, and there were many noteworthy points: First, he emphasized that his visit to the United States in September this year did not change his view of the United States or his belief in socialism. Second, when talking about his attitude towards war, he quoted US President Eisenhower's words about fearing war, and then said: "Of course, if war is imposed on the people, forcing them to defend their freedom and independence from aggressors, that is another matter. In this case, one cannot be afraid of war. ... But yearning for war, like a rooster preparing to fight, is unwise." Third, regarding his trip to China, he said that the situation in China was very good, and the friendship between China and the Soviet Union and the friendship between the countries of the socialist camp were developing and consolidating. Khrushchev also praised Eisenhower again in his speech.
