Marginal Note on a Telegram Regarding Views on the Sino-Indian Relations Issue
(September 30, 1959)

It seems this intelligence[1] could be read aloud to Comrade Gosh[2] and the others. Request the Premier to consider whether this is feasible.
After reading, return to Mao.

[1] Refers to a telegram sent by the Chinese Embassy in the United Arab Republic to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 22, 1959. The telegram stated that, according to certain African sources, after reading a series of documents on the Sino-Indian relations issue published in our embassy bulletin, they were deeply convinced of the correctness of our position and believed that all disputes between China and India were caused by the Indian government’s attempt to carry out the aggressive policies inherited from British imperialism. They fully supported China’s opposition to the McMahon Line created by British imperialism, pointing out that on the African continent there currently exist many such "McMahon Lines," which must be abolished in the future.

[2] Gosh, then serving as General Secretary of the National Council of the Communist Party of India.
