This is a draft editorial for *Renmin Ribao* drafted by Wu Lengxi, President of the Xinhua News Agency and Editor-in-Chief of *Renmin Ribao*, following Mao Zedong's instructions. The original title was "Overcome Slackening Sentiments, Strictly Enforce Increasing Production and Practicing Economy." When Mao Zedong reviewed it, he changed it to "Overcome Right-Deviationist Sentiments, Strictly Enforce Increasing Production and Practicing Economy."

Grasp firmly the two months of August and September, further unfold a vigorous and roaring campaign to increase production and practice economy, rouse the utmost in干劲 (drive), resolutely oppose the right-deviationist sentiments newly emerging among a section of cadres, and strive to fulfill and overfulfill this year's Leap Forward plan—this is the urgent task currently facing the economic front, including industry, agriculture, transportation, and commerce.
